Weight Loss For Men

June 5th, 2010 by admin in Weight Loss

I know that many of you have emailed me about my diet plans and workout routines and the ladies wanted to know if my workout routines are good for women, or what diets for men really work… well I’ve decided to start a gender specific series on weight loss, dieting and exercise. Hopefully this sheds some light on the subject and helps clear out my inbox a little!

Sorry ladies, men are naturally more athletic and are therefore can lose weight easier, but on the flip side they can also gain weight faster as well. Standard exercise routines that I put my male clients through would be a workout consisting of the muscle groups back & biceps, chest and triceps and of course legs, in addition to a good amount of cardio. This covers all the major muscle groups and burns fat fast.

When it comes to dieting men need to watch out for eating too much red meat, dressings and of course beer. All of these things go right to the stomach and can have adverse health effects like high cholesterol and can lead to heart disease… obviously staying alive is more important than looking good in a bathing suit! Eating veggies and lean meats like chicken and turkey are a great start and can make a big difference even without a lot of exercise.

Some of you may be wondering “why not abs?” well abs are a very important muscle for a lot of people but if you follow a good diet and include lots of cardio, abs will come naturally so I don’t put a lot of emphasis on them, though my clients are certainly welcome to ask me about them and I would be happy to recommend a few abs routines to get that 6-pack look everyone wants.

Next post the women will be up, keep working out ladies and I will get to you shortly!
